Before Your Session
We encourage you to browse through the CBT and Mindfulness experience below, so you get a fair idea about what to expect during this process. You can connect with us via email or WhatsApp too to answer all your queries, and help you identify how we can best meet your needs at this time. Once your appointment is scheduled, we email a few forms for you to fill in before your first session. This covers background information, your reason for consultation, and a few emotional assessments. It also provides you more details about our work practices, ethics and policies.
The First Session
We use the first consultation session to create a working relationship, review your needs, and set therapy goals. I review your current mood state and resilience, as well as relevant past therapy experiences. We go at your pace, preference and style, in order to create a fitting and useful plan. If you need additional time, you can book a longer session or extend your session up to 90 minutes for a prorated fee based on availability. Some clients need an extended first meeting as they have many emotional concerns to discuss. They feel easy when they express openly in a safe milieu.
After the First Session
After the first session itself, you embark on a mindfulness journey. You are engaged in assessments, mood tracking and cognitive worksheets to help delve into your mind and understand how you think and emote. I engage with you daily through the tracker and customize suggestions to your needs. We choose a follow up schedule that best fits your healing and growth. Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes weekly and later these can be modified to suit your needs. Eventually as you make progress with your goals, the next sessions can be scheduled every 2-3 weeks or even once a month.
